We're small for a reason!
Located in the Sacramento Delta of California, and named for the native Silver Bush Lupine:
Lupin Lapin Rabbitry is a conscientious land steward, practicing locally sustainable principles.
Our bunnies are integral garden partners, eating an organic homestead based diet, and in turn giving us high quality fertilizer for our gardens.
A Lupin Lapin rabbit is handled daily and lives in spacious accommodations.
Our focus at Lupin Lapin Rabbitry is the conservation and promotion of the
uncommon Lilac and Blanc de Hotot breeds of rabbit. We do NOT outcross with other breeds.
We have have few carefully planned litters a year, concentrating on preserving and improving overall quality, temperament and physical appearance of these beautiful animals.

Rarity of the Breeds we raise:
The Livestock Conservancy lists Blanc de Hotots as a 'threatened' breed and Lilac Breed rabbits as a 'watched' breed on their conservation priority list, which means that there are fewer than 200 annual registrations in the United States and an estimated global population of less than 2,000.
Rare Breeds Rabbit List categorizes Blanc de Hotots as #1 and Lilacs as #11(Previously #8!) on a list of 16 breeds in danger of disappearing... http://www.rabbitgeek.com/rarelist.html
